Welcome to our guide to Terraria Yoyos. Yoyos are melee weapons that can be thrown in Terraria. There are two different kinds of Yoyos and they can be obtained through crafting, drops from enemies or purchased from NPCs. All yoyos have a very fast use time for 24, a velocity of 16, and a speed of fast.

The best modifier is Godly. The Legendary modifier is irrelevant as the speed of a yoyo cannot be modified. A Demonic modifier is also decent. Terraria is an open-ended game: you are not forced to go anywhere or do anything. You are free to set your own goals and follow through with them, whether you are a builder, fighter, explorer, collector, or whatever else.

It is recommended, but there is certainly no requirement to visit each biome, or even in this order if you don't want to. If you are new to the game or unsure of what map size to choose for a fresh start, choose small. Even in a small world, a player can face long travel times, and it would still take hundreds of hours to explore every cave in a small world at a normal pace.

Large is suitable for long-term playthroughs or multiplayer games, providing the most space and opportunities for loot, but is not recommended for a new player. If you are new to Terraria, then chat with him and he will give you advice on different elements of your world based on what stage of the game you're at.

Even if you are already quite experienced with the game, it is still a good idea to keep him around as he displays all available crafting recipes when he's given an item. He's also required for game progression, as he is needed to summon the Wall of Flesh far later in the game. The landscape of a forest includes lots of grassplenty of treesseveral lakes ranging from small to large and, sometimes, Sunflowers.

Dayblooms and Pumpkins the latter of which is Halloween exclusive can be found growing in this biome. During the day, this biome has the weakest monsters in the game, with peaceful slimes jumping towards the player and only attacking once provoked. Note that Goblin Scouts only spawn in the outer thirds of the map and that Pinkies are fairly rare.

Occasionally, you'll find surface Chests which have some valuable loot in them, ranging from early-game buff and healing potions to mobility accessories to simple weapons. Your goal during the day should be to find some better starting equipment from your surroundings and build a small house to pass the night. You might want to build sets of 2 houses to house later NPCs without having to worry later.

Give the sets some distance to keep the NPCs happy. The first thing you should do is cut down several trees using your Copper Axeaim for the lowest blockas wood is needed for many things, then build a Work Bench. From there, craft a Wooden Swordand perhaps a Wooden Bowalongside some Wooden Arrows which you can soon upgrade to Flaming Arrows for extra damage as your starting weapons are next to useless.

One major exception is if you're playing Journey Mode a 1. You'll also have many more powers over your gameplay experience, ranging from time control to item duplication, which are further explained in the main Journey Mode article. Next, you should explore your surroundings. There are usually some Chests and Pots on or near the surface near your starting point, which will often contain useful weapons, potions, materials, and some other weapons.

If you can find enough Cobwebs near the surface you'll need 20you can also make a Wooden Yoyowhich is finicky, but a solid starting weapon.

There will also almost always be at least one cave entrance close by leading Underground signified by a massive domed hill with a cave entrance on one of the sides. Use Ropes and Platforms to reach high ledges, bridge chasms, and safely descend. The Step Stool accessory, found in surface Chests, allows you to press the UP to increase your block placing range and jump height.

Always carry blocks around with you so you can descend safely! Once you have explored your surroundings and cracked open all the chests and pots in sight, you should head to the Underground before night falls to continue your search for useful items and resources. At this point it's likely you've found enough bars mostly Iron or Lead Bars in Surface Chests and small pockets of ore that you'll be able to craft yourself an Anvil and possibly some starter ore weapons, which will make adventuring a bit easier.

Rain occurs randomly and affects all surface biomes for its duration. Most enemies are only visually different from the normal enemies.Want your yoyo fast? We can help!

Learn more about how quickly we can ship. So you're overwhelmed with choices and having trouble picking a yo-yo? Don't worry, because here's a buyer's guide to help. A good yoyo player could take any one of the yo-yos that we sell and do tricks that would delight and amaze any audience. In the end, it's all about practicing, practicing, and more practicing. Yo-yoing is a skill.

And just like every other skill in life, the only way to really improve is to work at it. There are three basic yoyo shapes. This is the shape of the standard wooden yoyo from when the yoyo was originally introduced in the United States. It is an all-purpose shape that's great for all your classic yo-yo tricks.

The Flared Gap Shape gives a wide, V shaped space that makes it easier to catch the yoyo back on the string for tricks like the Trapeze, or Split the Atom.

When it comes to metal yoyos and high end yoyos, the flared gap shape pretty much dominates the market. However, it should be noted that a skilled yoyoist is also quite capable of doing these type of "string" tricks on a non Flared Gap type of yoyo.

It is a more streamlined shape than the Classic Shape, which makes it a great choice for looping types of tricks and long spin times. The idea behind the Modified Shape was to create a yoyo that has many of the benefits of both Flared Gap and Classic shapes. But it also has rounded inside walls for a wider gap. That makes string style tricks like the Trapeze easier than a Classic shaped yoyo, but not quite as easy as a Flared Gap shape.

A Modified Shape yoyo will do looping style tricks better than a Flared Gap. It is an excellent choice if can only own one type of yoyo. The axle is the point where the string connects connects to the yoyo, and the part that holds the two yoyo halves together.

There are several different types of axles that have different features and advantages. Fixed Axles In the beginning, there was only one type of yoyo, and one type of axle. Yoyos were carved from a solid piece of wood, so everything was made of wood. Wooden axle yoyos are excellent to start with if you played with a yoyo as a kid and want to pick it back up, because they are instantly familiar. Transaxle A Transaxle yoyo is a yoyo that has a fixed axle with a sleeve around it that turns freely.

This sleeve allows the yoyo to spin longer than with a plain fixed axle, because it reduces friction when the yoyo spins. The sleeve can be made of plastic or metal. Ball Bearing Axle What spins even better than a Transaxle? A ball bearing axle is similar to a Transaxle, except that the sleeve is actually a metal device that has tiny metal balls inside it.

Most people just call the device itself the "bearing. Ball Bearing Axles revolutionized yo-yoing by allowing spin times much, much longer than with previous types of yoyos. A Clutch Axle uses centrifugal force to make the yoyo "wake up" automatically and come back to your hand. When the yoyo is spinning quickly, centrifugal force holds the clutch open.

But when the yoyo slows down, the clutch closes and grabs the axle and makes the yoyo wake up.The Wooden Yoyo is an early-game yoyoand generally the first available to the player. It is the weakest of all yoyos. It remains deployed for about four seconds before returning automatically to the player. Its best modifier is Godly or Demonic.

Both modifiers increase the average damage output by the same amount. Sign In. From Terraria Wiki. Jump to: navigationsearch. Weapon Crafting material. Wooden Yoyo's animation. Desktop version. Console version.

The Melee equipment loadouts rely on being close to the enemy in order to dish out high amounts of damage.

In this Terraria 1. The Gold armor set provides 16 Defense while the Platinum Armor set is a bit stronger, boosting Defense up to Both of these can be mined with a Copper pickaxe so obtaining them should not pose a problem.

Gold and Platinum Swords are the best melee range weapons in the pre-boss category. Though, since Yoyos and Boomerangs are also melee weapons they are a much preferred choice with Amazon being the favorite early game Yoyo.

Most players do not know this, but buffs to melee speed actually make the Yoyo range bigger.

As far as Yoyos and Boomerangs go, Cascade and Flamarang are the clear picks as they deal high damage and burn enemies as well. Cascade can only be dropped, it has a 0. Adamantite and Titanium sword are easily accessible at this point, but the main goal should be acquiring the Fetid Baghnakhs, Amarok and Ice Sickle. Fetid Baghnakhs excels as the fastest attack speed Sword and Amarok is a strong Yoyo with the frostburn debuff.

The Amarok on the other hand is a bit trickier to acquire, it has a 1 in 0. Ice Sickle fires a projectile with no mana or ammo cost and it has a 0. Lastly, the Yoyo Bag is a must-have as it allows the user to attack with two Yoyos at once. Craftable from one Yoyo glove, White String and a Counterweight.

The Turtle Armor is a popular Pre-Plantera set for melee characters because it reflects the damage enemies do to you pre-mitigation. It is somewhat hard to acquire because you need a lot of Chlorophyte to craft it. Terra Blade is the third highest damage sword in the game and it also autoswings.

Death Sickle is an awesome melee weapon because it can fire projectiles which hit through walls. Lastly, the Yelets can be dropped after any Mechanical Boss has been killed, it has a 0. The Fire Gauntlet is very useful as it increases melee knockback and inflicts fire damage on attack. The Terra Blade is still a solid choice for pure melee encounters.

The sustain from Vampire Knives is great for clearing a group of monsters and staying alive.

Yoyo Glove

Eye of Cthulhu is the best post-Plantera Yoyo with a range of 23 tiles which makes it the second strongest Yoyo in the game. Influx Weaver fires projectiles in a straight line towards the cursor and these projectiles essentially boomerang back onto the enemy twice. To get the Influx Weaver has a The Flairon is incredible as it features high range and attack speed while doing a good chunk of damage and knocking back any enemies that might get near.

Everything else stays the same. The Solar Flare armor set is just awesome, it provides you with 78 Defense along with many melee boosts.

It also features a unique effect, it generates solar shields overtime which you can use to dash and deal high damage to enemies you pass through. Crafting the Solar Flare armor can be a daunting process as you need 45 Solar Fragments and 36 Luminite Bars at an Ancient Manipulator crafting station.

As you might notice, all the previous weapons have been replaced by new and much stronger counterparts. The Meowmere has the highest base damage out of all weapons in Terraria latest patch. For as expansive and welcoming Terraria is, the game doesn't explain class system very well.

In fact, it's hardly mentioned at all, its existence may even be news to you. If you're in that camp, or you're just looking for a refresher, we've put together a handy breakdown, along with the equipment you should be keeping an eye out for with each class. There are four main classes in Terraria. Rather than being based on stats or anything that a traditional RPG would use, your class is defined by your equipment. While it's possible to mix and match these classes, it's rarely wise to.

There's is a fifth class—one that uses throwing weapons—it gets outclassed so quickly you're better off sticking to one of the others. These are your four main classes:. In most cases, melee characters are close-range fighters who hit things, but that's not always the case in Terraria. While some of the weapons this class uses are designed for close-quarters combat, we also get boomerangs, and projectile-firing swords.

Melee armour boasts the highest defensive values in the game, so this is a great class for beginners. Terraria mods : The best fan-created tweaks Terraria beginner's guide : Get started right Terraria creations : Ten of the most incredible. Ranged characters use a combination of bows and guns to deal huge damage quickly. What's more, you have special weapons that turn your arrows into bees, or fire piranhas.

That might sound cool, but you'll need to grind to keep on time of crafting your special ammo stocks. Terraria mage builds offer some frankly obnoxious spells. This includes ray guns, short range spikes, and controllable fireballs—and that's just the early game.

Later on you'll wield massive beams of light, meteor showers, and a rainbow gun. While mages can unleash high damage, their relative lack of armour means you needplenty of healing potions in your inventory. If you prefer to delegate tasks rather than do the dirty work yourself, this is the class for you. Summoners call on spiders, imps, and dragons to do their fighting for them.

That said, you'll need a backup weapon if enemies get dangerously close. Summoner is the closest you'll get to a mixed class, and it's handy for farming specific ores.

You'll need to wait a while before you can properly choose your class: it's unlikely you'll get class-specific armour until you've taken out the first few bosses. Your best bet is to create some gold or platinum weapons and armour and stick to that until you've defeated the first major targets. A good way to get a good weapon early is to dig underground and raid chests you come across; just use whatever feels good or drops with decent stats.

It's also worth grabbing any stars that fall to increase your mana and hunting down life crystals to boost your maximum health. Both actions will make you more powerful, and mana is essential to Mages and Summoners. You should get some good drops from any of the bosses you fight up to the Wall of Flesh.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. Terraria Store Page. The first yo-yo and the easiest to obtain is the wooden yo-yo. This yo-yo is built at a crafting bench and requires: 10 wood Any kind This is literally just a tree. Please tell me you can find a tree 20 Cobweb Found underground This is the first yo-yo you should get, as it really is the first yo-yo you can get, if your going to only kill things with a y-oyo.

It is relativley reliable, albiet low in damage. Mostly use this one to kill weak enemies, and keep stronger ones at bay while you run like a coward from that slime.

I did kill King Slime with this yo-yo, however I cheesed the fight, so if you want to fight him without cheesing it, I'd wait until you have the amazon. The second yo-yo that can be obtained is the Rally, and it is dropped by the following, with an about 3. I didn't bother to use this one, as it would have been to grindy for just a wooden yo-yo.

Bosanski kuhar pogaca

I got it after getting the Amazon. After the Rally, there are two yo-yos, however they will be lumped together as the only thing seperating them is what your worlds evil is. The Artery has one more point of damage, whereas the Malaise has slightly better knockback and duration.

The Artery is obtained in a crimson world, and the malaise in a corruption one. For my playthrough, I had a crimson world, which proved useful later. This is one I didn't go for immediately, as this requiures either killing EoC, The evil's boss, or mining out enough ore, and as such would be to time consuming or difficult with a wooden yo-yo or a Rally. Since alot of its ingredients require drops from enemies, you may have an easier time getting them if you have the Rally, however I felt it would be to time consuming to do that, I rushed for the components.

You will find the jungle much easier to transverse if you take it slowly, hiding behind blocks and slowly whitling down the enemies.
